I am so lonely

I am so lonely.  I am locked in the school kernel with hundreds of other dogs around me, but I have no one to play with.  MasterK is sad and lonely too, just look at this photo taken today.  To cheer him up, Erica drove MasterK to Denver for Dim Sum, but the food wasn't that good.

Back to school

I guess I am not doing well with traffic check.  Stephanie would take me back to guidedog school for retraining.  I will be leaving tomorrow morning and will be gone for at least 2 weeks.  I will miss MasterK and Crystal.  sad...sad.

Training day 1

My Guidingeye trainer, Stephanie, come to visit us today.  I am so happy to see her.  The purpose of the visit was to give us refresh course on traffic check and food avoidance.  In the morning, MasterK just took me for a long walk with Stephanie following us so she can gauge us how we doing.  She told us we were doing fine.  After lunch we worked on the traffic check.  While walking with MasterK, Stephanie repeatly drove her car in front of us to cut us off.  I didn't do too well the first few times, because I didn't slow down for the car, that because I forgot on how to handle this situation.  I gotten better after few tries but still need more practice tomorrow.  Afterward, we gone back home for food avoidance training.  I love to pick up food from street while working and that's a big NO NO.   Stephanie dropped some foods in front of me, if I go for it, MasterK would give me a leash correction.  If I don't fall for the temptation, I would get a big praise and a reword from MasterK.   After few repeat ions I learned not to pick up food from the the ground or from other person anymore.  She said we will practice  on the street tomorrow.   Stay turn.

Snow day

We woke up to about 6 inches of heavy wet snow this morning.  While MasterK shovel the heavy snow off the driveway, me and Crystal had fun running in the snow at the backyard.  Fun...fun.

 The snow was very heavy and wet, so a big tree limb was broken off from a tree from next house.  The tree limb landed in our yard and rest on the fence between our houses.  Luckly we cut down all the trees in our yard, those trees were so tall and weak, their tree limbs could be broken off and hit our house.

Prime Rib

We went to visit Megan in UNC today.  MasterK forgot to put on my harness, so it was a fun day for me, he had to hold on to mom to walk around.  We all had prime rib for lunch, but MasterK didn't like it.  He said the prime rib was over cooked, too dry and too chewy, so he gave half the rib to me under the talble, Oh Yum Yum, I just love it.  Mom get MasterK some omelet and a piece of fish and he like them.  After eating, Megan took us walk around the campus. 

RIP, Teemeemee

My good friend, Teemeemee, die today at the age of 11.  I will miss her morning songs.  The photo posted yesterday was the last live photo of Teemeemee, RIP.

Good deed, bad burger

It was too cold, so we didn't walk this morning.
At around 110:30AM, Suzy and Bill, MasterK's coworkers, came to pick us up to the Longmont library.  MasterK has asked his CCTV Magnifier that he had used at work be donated to the Longmont library.  MasterK also donate his older 17" LCD monitor.  So today we bought the equipment to the library and MasterK gave demo on the equipment usage to the library staff.  Now, MasterK can read the magazines in the library.  This is the good deed.  Erica came to library to meet us for lunch also.

After the library, MasterK, Suzy, Bill, Erica, and couple of other coworkers met at Red Robin for lunch.  MasterK order a simply grilled burger and it took 30minutes for the food to arrive.  All the food for others took long time too.  The burger was only lukewarm, over cooked and tasteless and the steak fries was missing from the order.  MasterK said Big Mac taste better than this overly priced burger.

After lunch, Erica drove us home and then we have a long walk under afternoon warm sun.

Senior citizen

With yesterday's birthday, MasterK is now officially a senior citizen.  He can join the Longmont senior center and have senior discount in some stores.  Too bad, McDonald's no longer offers senior coffee.



Erican took MasterK to her school for blood typing.  This is for student to practice drawing blood.  The student didn't do a good job.  It was painful and didn't get the blood on first try, and it was on the good arm.  The second try was done by the instructor and it was much better, not much pain and got the blood.  Supposely my blood type was O+.

We then went to Target to practice traffic check.  This is all happen because MasterK told the guide dog school that I didn't seem to avoid the car that was coming at us couple of weeks ago.  So, the trainer told MasterK to practice traffic check in a store.  We walked on an aisle, and Erica pushed a shopping cart at us at the right angle from left and right to see how I react.  I think I done OK, MasterK would report the result to the trainer, the school might or might not send a trainer out for more training.  sight... it just seem MasterK like to complain everyting I do.

MasterK's birthday lunch

Before talking about his lunch, let talk about MasterK's first ever low vision support group meeting.  This meeting also take place on 2nd Friday each month, school was closed today so Mom was able to drive him to this meeting.  WHen we got there, there was only one other old couple in the meeting.  We learned the person who regularly run this meeting is in a conference and someone else run the meeting today.  Apprently others knew about it and didn't show up.   We same a demo on a electronics handheld magnifier and JAWS screen reader.  It was 12:30PM by the time the meeting was over.

We decided to take MasterK to the Dum Sum place for his birthday lunch.  When we were there the restaurant was closed for renovation, the other buffet restaurant was also our of business, so we didn't eat anything, so disappointed.  It was 2:30PM by the time we finished grocery at the Asian supermarket.  So we just bought a roasted duck home for lunch.  MasterK was so hungry, he had to eat a bun on the way home.  Happy birthday, MasterK.

Bowling

Erica moved the Nintendo video game system to the lving room so MasterK has something to play with.  I think this is MasterK's first encounter with this game system as he had no clue how to work with the remote control.  Erica show him how to play the bowling game, big mistake on my part.
I was standing right in front of him when he swing the remote control which strike right in my face.  I think blind people shouldn't bowling.  I guess I didn't learn, either because I stood in front of him again few games later and I got smake in the face again.  Luckly he didn't take my eye out, otherwise I would need a guide dog too.

Rude people

Yesterday, a rude person pushed a bicycle out from a store and almost ran  into us, I guess he must be in a hurry.  He yelled at us in Spanish, and rode off in his bicycle.

Then last week, we almost got run over by a car, because the driver ran a stop sign.  What's wrong with people now a day, seem everyone is in a hurry.

 I hope high hope for Kindle Fire, but I find out it is not accessible for the blind.  I guess my hope for getting a cheap tablet this year is gone.

MasterK cooked ham omelet this morning.  It was good, consider he can't see to well.  He didn't drop anything on the floor this time, but he gave me a piece of ham anyway,  yum.

I am back

Master K shut down our website just in case the social security and Long term disability people find him able to create a website, this may be considered work, and deny his benefits.  Now a day, SSA and insurance companies would find any excuse to deny benefit.  We saw a news recently that a person post some photos on her facebook having some fun time, and her benefit was terminated.

No more tree

We only had a short walk today because we were expecting people come over to cut down the trees this morning.  At around 8:30AM, 6 people from Helping Hands Tree Services shown up for the job.  We had 2 big Elm trees in our back and they were not in very good shape.  They were so tall, a gust of high wind might topple over our roof.  A person climb on top of the tree and used a chainsaw cut it down section by section, seem to be a dangerous job.  They finished the cutting around 4PM.  They would come back in few days to grid down all the tree stumps.  We had previous had two other trees cut down in two seperate times.  Now, the yard seem much bigger without the trees.

Bee tried to bite me

This morning MasterK made a chicken dumpling burger for breakfast.  What is that, you ask?  He found some leftover burger buns in the frig and didn't what them go to waste, so he put two pieces of chicken dumplings between the buns.
While walking this morning, a bee kept following us, I think it tried to bite me.  We had to run for about half the block to get away.  When we got home, he gave me a whole banana, because it was over rip.

I love my jobs

MasterK made some scrambled eggs burger for breakfast.  He drop some egg on the floor, as usual, I cleaned it up after him.  I love my job.  After he watched morning news, we are out of the house around 7:30AM.  We walked the Main street route this time.  On the way home, MasterK turned into a wrong street and he was kind of confused as where we were.  Luckly, I knew the route and I pull him out his jam and got home safely.  This is second time we got lost thanks to his confusing direction.
We had an 5.3 earthquake at South Colorado, we didn't feel a thing here in Longmont.  MasterK locked me in my cage while Mom took him for his doctor appointment, I hate it.  But I am happy again once he came back a gave me a milkbone. 

I am sad

I am very sad today, because MasterK ingored me most of the day.  After our morning walk, he just sat in front of his computer messing with his website.  He forgot to let me out to pee, lucky I can hold.  Then when he left me out, he forgot to let me in.  It was very hot and I was roasting at the backyard.  Finally I had to let out a bark to let him know I was still outside.  I had to drink a ton of cold water to cool myself off.

It is Sunday

It is Sunday, so we walk in the city park.  I like the park because the path is usually clean and no sharp things to poke my paws.  There were many other dogs in the park but I were no allowed to socialize with them, it sucks.  It was hot, we left after about one hour of walking, but Mom took few photos before we left.
We then went to McDonald's for breakfast, while MasterK ate Mom look for coupon in the Sunday newspaper.  This McDonalds was recently remodel, consequently MassterK couldn't find the sink after he pee.  The stuff in the restroom were all moved around, luckly he didn't pee on the floor.
Mom drove us to the near by Officedepot buy a pack of glue sticks.
For lunch, MasterK pan fry two hamburgers, one for him and one for me to eat later for dinner.  He didn't see one of the patti still have a piece of wax paper so he pay fry the burger with the paper on it.  Luckly Mom saw it and pull it out of the pan, otherwise he would have extra fiber on his burger.

It sucks

It sucks, because I stepped on something sharp again in this morning's walk.  No bleeding but I had to limp for a whole block before the pain gone away.  MasterK had some frozen wings and noodle for lunch, after that, he messing with origami again.  He tried to glue some pieces together and let the white glue dripped all over his table.  Messy messy.  He wants to buy a glue stick, smart move, MasterK.
He sent one his yellow lab origami to his blind classmate in PA, and his classmate go to send him a bottle of wine, his friend makes wine at home.  His friend has a yellow guide dog called Roxanne.  MasterK loves red wine, he drink a glass with dinner almost every day.

Today is a much cooler day, had the usual morning walk with MasterK.  Went to Main street this time, too bad I stepped on something sharp but no bleeding.
Mom took a day off from work so she can visit Megan in her dome.  Megan on gone for one day and Mom already worry about everthing about her.  Erica went too.
With everyone gone, the house is quiet.  MasterK cooked a hamburger for lunch, too bad, he burned it.  Did I tell you MasterK is a lousy cook?  He then doing Origami again, after few try, he managed to make a Godzilla...Grrrr.  He is also messing with his website too.  He said he would call his website www.guidedogmaster.com in honor of me

Moving day

Megan moved to her dome today.  Erica helped her out becuase Mom went to work.  May be I can take over her room now, nice big comfy bed.  It is hot today at 96 degree.  MasterK made couple of origami dog and lobster today.  He wasted few sheets of paper because he couldn't see well.

Dim Sum

Today must be a special day becuase Mom made Dim Sum.  She made Big Bun, Har Gow, and Siu Mai.  Too bad, I couldn't have any, but MasterK cooked me a hamburger.

As usual, MasterK and I had long walk in the morning.  It was a cool morning, so the walk was easy. 
Some guys came over to give us an estimate on tree removal.  It would cost MasterK $3k to cut down 2 trees and grid down 5 stumps.  That guy said to MasterK that it is good to be old because he is qualify for senior discount.
MasterK is learning HTML online, he wants to learn how todesign a simple website.  He calls his future website GuideDogMaster.  MasterK is pretty dumb, Erica had to come over to help him out on HTML.

Good Hair day

Another Oh Hum day.  Had a walk with MasterK in the early morning.  MasterK had an acupuncture appointment in the afternoon.  Megan combed my body to collect some hair sample so MasterK can send them to University of Pennsylvania, Vet school for analysis.  Had some can food for dinner, Om nom nom, loved those chunky meat.

A walk in the park

Well, today is Sunday, that means I would walk in the park.  After cup of lousy kibbles, we drove to the park where we walked for 6 rounds, about 1 hour long.
Afterward we stop at a McDonld's for breakfast.  MasterK loves the burrito.  I wondered how he can eat such big burrita after he already ate a breakfast at home in the morning.  While MasterK and Sarlina reading newspaper, I was laying down under the table, there was no food scrap to lick this time.  We then went to Safeway shopping for more foods.  Did I tell you I love food?  MasterK wanted to buy some beef petties but there was none in the store, too bad, no hamburger for me today.
BTW, Erica and Megan caught some crayfish yesterday.  Erica tried to put one near me but I don't like it.  Those creature look nasty.

Life is not fair

Well I only have kibbles for my meals, Crystal the old dog has real turkey, steak, and fish personally cooked by Erica for dinner everyday.  If I am lucky, MasterK might drop some foods on the floor while he is eating.  I love clumsy  eater like MasterK.  BTW, he is messy cook too, while back he dropped a dumpling while cooking breakfast and I eat it before he can stop me.  Other time he dropped some scrambled egg and I grab it before he even notice what happen.  I just love food.

I hate bath

Once a month, I am subjected to a dip in a tub.  I just had one this moring, and I hate it and hate it.
